History
When All Saints premiered on the Seven Network in February 1998, it starred viewer favourite Georgie Parker, who had made her way into the hearts of Australians as nurse Lucy in A Country Practice. We followed her character, nurse Terri Sullivan, and her colleagues on Ward 17 as they treated the patients it seemed no other part of the hospital wanted to know.
Of course, Georgie’s biggest storyline in her time on the show (she left in 2005) was her love affair with Dr Mitch Stevens (Erik Thomson), which ended in tragedy when he died of a brain tumour, breaking her heart – and those of viewers.
But Georgie was by no means the only star of the show, with names like Brett Climo, Grant Bowler and Martin Lynes starring in the hit series. And with the closure of Ward 17 and the staff’s transfer to the emergency department at the start of 2004, a new era began on All Saints.
Along with major cast changes has come a new direction for All Saints in the past few years. Now focused on the goings-on in the ED, the action is more fast-paced and the gore factor has been upped considerably! Recent additions to the cast have also ensured the show is fresh and maintains its high standing in the ratings each week.
